Intuative Eating: How Your Relationship with Food Affects You
Who: High School Age and Above
When: November 8 | 10:30am-11:30am
This class will dive into the causes of disordered eating and how to make peace with food.
Common Adolescent Issues: Suicide, Self-Harm, Eating Disorders
Who: Parents of middle and high school kids
When: November 14 | 12:30pm-1:30pm
This class will include an introduction to common issues that adolescents face and will offer information on identifying potential warning signs.
A Grown Up Guide to a Teenage Brain
Who: Parents or other adults who work with teenagers
When: November 28 | 10:30am-11:30am
This class will include an introduction to the brain, how it works, and how it develops throughout childhood and adolescence. By understanding what’s going on inside the brain of a teenager, we can learn to better parent and lead them well!
An Introduction to Emotional Intelligence
When: December 3 | 12:30pm-1:30pm
The Bible is full of profoundly emotional experiences. David danced before the Lord. Jesus wept outside the tomb of Lazarus. Why are all of these emotional experiences included in scripture? What can they tell us about our own emotional experiences?
Why It's Important to Talk About Pornography...in Church
When: December 4 | 12:30pm-1:30pm
Scripture does not directly address pornography; however, the church desperately needs to be talking about it. The average age of sexualization is 7 years old, so its not “if” but “when” we are exposed to pornography. The goal of this class is to empower parents, students, and anyone who might be exposed to a tv, smart phone or computer with tools on how to discuss porn in age appropriate ways.
